Christine blew a winnable election by taking too strong an anti choice position, an egregious tactical error in a close election in a pro choice state.
I'll listen to Christine Drazan out of respect for the podcast. In a way I am looking forward to it, because during the 2022 campaign Drazan generally kept mum about her program. It was likely a strategic decision given that Oregon is not a red state where she could be candid. Still, the one Drazan campain pledge I'm aware of made me despair at ever being able to find common ground with Republicans.
Drazan called for the abolition of red-flag laws. Let the hypocrisy sink in. Every time there's a mass shooting, Republicans pin the problem on poor mental health, not guns. Now, red-flag laws are intended to remove firearms from the hands of people who are so unstable mentally that they are a danger to themselves and others. Republicans really should revise their mental health talking points so it's clear they're only talking about mentally ill people who don't yet own guns. Once they're gun owners, it's hands off even if they're as crazy as bedbugs.
