As a "recovering Democrat" the one statewide vote I felt good about was Tobias Read for Secretary of State.

When I was an elected official (for a quarter century 1994-2019) I found myself often defending Oregon as a state where political corruption was non-existent. I argued that incompetence was common but not corruption. I was wrong, as has been shown by the shenanigans of the Secretary of State, Governor, and Attorney General.

I am not yet a Republican, but I am now, like most Oregonians a true independent (not the lame party of that name that scams people into joining).

"Woon said at the time, when the state was just learning the extent of its registration of non-citizens, that the registration of non-citizens to vote would not affect the 2024 election. Woon did not offer a basis for her prediction."

This was 1) wishcasting and 2) counting on local media to flush it down the rabbit hole, never to be mentioned again.

🙄 The entire OR state leadership needs to go.

Molly Woon’s most famous headline, ‘Oregon offers to help non-citizens who were mistakenly registered to vote remain eligible for citizenship’. I appreciate people who commit to public service, but Molly was in way, way over her head

Thanks for this Jeff. One wonders where Ms. Woon will pop up next. There are likely plenty of cushy opportunities within the bureaucracy for such a consistently loyal party hack. Maybe she could run the DMV.

I’m curious who his/her wife/husband is and whether they/them had any influence over her neglecting her responsibilities towards election integrity?

Needed a flow chart to follow your comment JR ;-). Your point well taken. This is exactly why I have little confidence the DOJ will investigate and prosecute Melissa Fireside, Clackamas County Commissioner elect for fraud and elder abuse. Nor will the SoS investigate when the other CC Commissioner elect Craig Roberts and the Clackamas Democrat party knew of the charges and managed to bury the story until after election day depriving voters of full disclosure of who they were voting for.

Yeah, investigations are really not part of their job description apparently. My comment was in keeping with DEI trends to illustrate how ridiculous it all is, which I hope is rapidly being shown the door!

Me too. This comment made me laugh. In a good way. LOL...

Looks like Kotek is trying to get some things "cleaned up" before the next election... Can't think her party members wouldn't blame her for letting her staff members make such bad decisions all on their own. Oh - I forget of whom I'm referring.

could it be possible that Mr. Read has a bit of integrity? or is that just me praying for a tiny ray of sunshine in this mess?

Good. This really makes my blood BOIL. This proves that corruption in the voting process indeed happened. This calls into question all results. Rene should have been Mayor, Sam Adams should have won over that Singleton moron, and the list goes on. This is so DIRTY. Good, I'm glad that nitwit resigned. She's corrupt. She's DIRTY.
