How about if the state just stop issuing DLs and IDs to illegals? That is what the initiative passed by the voting public via "democracy".

Tobias is just another clueless politician in a long string of clueless Oregon politicians.

I will never understand the people that are so happy to dance to the tune of non-citizens. Those non-citizens that can’t make the effort or take the time to secure legal citizenship but nevertheless still demand to share in all the benefits legal citizenship bestows. And aided and abetted by Democrats and others.

Many left leaning nonprofits in Portland (several of which receive tax dollars and have government contracts) support giving non-citizens the right to vote. It includes Tina Kotek’s favorite charity, the Oregon Food Bank. Here is the list:

ACLU of Oregon

Adelante Mujeres

APANO (Asian Pacific American Network of Oregon)

Center for Migration, Gender, and Justice

Coalition of Communities of Color

IRCO (Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization)

Latino Network

Next Up

Oregon Food Bank

Oregon Interfaith Movement for Immigrant Justice

Any transaction with a governmental office results in a person being registered and their name placed on a county voter roll. Oregon currently has more registered voters than eligible voters. Judicial watch is currently suing the state of Oregon for their 'dirty' voter rolls. Oregon is moving a bill through the legislature this session to allow children 16-18 yo to vote on school board elections, HB 3012. Oregon is not serious about clean, fair, and accurate elections. ERIC (Electronic Registration Information Center) is an expensive joke, I'm unsure how much Oregon is paying this 'non-profit' but this is the FAQ from the ERIC website: Members fund ERIC. New members pay a one-time membership fee of $25,000, which is reserved for technology upgrades and other unanticipated expenses. Members also pay annual dues. Annual dues cover operating costs and are based, in part, on the citizen voting age population in each state. Thus, large jurisdictions pay more in annual dues than smaller ones. Members approve their dues and the annual budget. Dues for the 2024-25 fiscal year range from about $37,000 to about $117,000. ERIC’s 2024-25 operating budget is about $1,673,000. ERIC conducts annual independent audits of its financial statements... Still, Oregon voter rolls are bad enough to warrant a lawsuit as mentioned above. Kudos to the current administration for demanding that federal law be followed.

"Immigration laws are the only laws that are discussed in terms of how to help people who break them. The most fundamental fact about the ideas of the political left is that they do not work."

Mr. Read's quotation is not based on any legal principle of which I am aware. How do these buffoons continue to mouth off without authority?
