The same day news was especially revealing - former OLCC director fined $500 for paying for a bottle inappropriately, but it’s only $1100 worse for the Secretary of State who took a side gig from a donor. I’m sure one being an old white guy and the other being the Oregon Trial Lawyer Association attractive political it-girl had no impact on the staff judgement. It’s so corrupt.

Be interesting to know who tipped off Sophie Peel at WillyWeek. Must have been someone somewhere in the Liquor/Cannabis control bureaucracy--we'll never know.

It goes without saying that the state's legacy media has done its usual stenography of the coverup; the Oregonian will resist playing second-fiddle to WillWeek at any cost, not that it has much credibility to lose. (Their complicity in helping GuvTina's gutting of the OLCC in the "bourbongate" scandalette stopped at the water's edge of any wider curiosity about the bigger Fagan/OLCC scandal, which involved the scads of last-minute "over the top" money that put Tina into office.)

And where were our state AG's in the messy business? Current AG Rayfield is busy-busy suing Trump...and schtum on anything closer to home. He's Rosenblum Redux; lucky us.

Step 4 is missing: this is where Oregon voters continue to check Democratic boxes hoping that these bad acts will end. They won't...

“ hoping that these bad acts will end”

Correction: Most Oregon Dem voters will either have not heard of Dem corruption or stick their fingers in their ears to MAKE SURE they don't hear about it. “Vote Blue No Matter What They Do”

Echo chambers are working very well for blue states.

I'm sure the OGEC spent in excess of six figures to levy that $1600 fine. Oregon Democrats, the OGEC, and the Oregon Bar ought to be ashamed of their actions but we all know that none of them care.

Shema's tattoo is dumb as well. Bad tattoos and dumb people seem to go hand in hand at this point

Nice concise explanation of the Fagan Affair, Jeff. Business as usual in Oregon.

I have always thought that Ms Shemia's downfall was the egregious monetazation of her office which threatened to blow the biscuit wheels off the Dem's gravy train. I assumed that the following indictment would force Fagan to go "states evidence" and tell tales. My cynical tale is this " confession and penance" absolves her of her sins and begins her rehabilitation and the gravy train chugs on

What’s classic is the mention in Willie Week that she has started a “non-profit”. Nothing more on-brand Oregon progressive than that. Soon she’ll be swimming in laundered government money.

I appealed to President Trump and AG Bondi again using information in this substack. Perhaps it will make it to their desks by Friday.

Keep hammering Mr. Eager and I will keep forwarding to higher powers.

Has anyone asked the current administration to reopen the federal investigation into Fagan (the one that was dropped by the Biden administration)?

Meanwhile, I just got another letter from Oregon Department of revenue telling me I owe another $600 in taxes! Amazing how easy it is for Salem to raise our taxes, when none of them work for a living!

Yesterday the Senate Rules Committee passed SB 686 out in spite of the fact that a lawyer from Legislative Counsel told them the bill was almost certainly unconstitutional and Senator Bonham reminded them that it would result in very costly lawsuits billed to the taxpayers.

This is not a surprise, if there is anything Democrats love it’s keeping the trial lawyers happy and well fed so they can send back a tiny portion of what they make as campaign contributions to Democrats.

But lawsuits might be the least of the problem:

"A spokesperson for Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram, issued a statement in response to Monday’s vote.

“If faced with legislation that requires us to pay for news content that publishers voluntarily post and is not the reason most people come to Facebook and Instagram, we will be forced to make the same business decision in Oregon as we did in Canada and end news availability on these services,” the statement said.”

https://www.opb.org/article/2025/05/05/oregon-bill-big-tech-meta-google-local-news-legislature-social-media/

But while the purpose of this bill is clearly to extort money to prop up business models that are failing because they produce garbage and lies that people are no longer willing to pay for, and the Democrats know these failing businesses can be counted on to regurgitate leftist propaganda, that’s not really the issue.

The real issue is that this garbage bill was sponsored by a Republican.

Dick Anderson, not content with promoting pornography in schools, signed onto this clearly leftist, power-grabbing, income redistribution bill.

How in the world is this permitted? How can the Republican Caucus allow this clown to continue to claim membership? How can the Republican Party continue to sit back and let people like this continue to make fools out of them and mock everthing the party claims to stand for?

More and more the Republicans are little more than an embarrassment and a support club for the liberals who are trashing the state.

They allow their members to be silenced and humiliated in committee by bow tie wearing buffoons and sheepishly sit down and shut up but then release videos highlighting their humiliation.

Let’s not forget, this is the party that brought us the likes of Charlie Conrad and Cheri Helt who were walking disgraces but it didn’t matter because by god they were wearing the Republican jersey and all we are about is electing “more Republicans” and the fact that they are the handmaidens of the left doesn’t matter.

The Republicans in Oregon are, for all intents and purposes, totally impotent with the exception of their ability to walk out, which they seem to have ruled out. So what possible reason exists for them to continue to embrace the likes of Anderson or the grifting Iversons who are pulling his strings?

Oregon is a one party state. Because in reality, there is only one party and that party’s bootlickers.

As all we know the Ethics Commission is a joke. 🤡 If anyone has ever tried to file an ethics complaint. I'm shocked that Fagan's case went as far as it did to even give her a fine. 🤨
