Oregon Health Authority paid Uplifting Journey LLC $2.3 million from Medicaid for drug treatment while company ran Lake O house police say was home of Venezuelan gang member who kidnapped, tortured
This is just another example of progressive corruption. Large payments to sketchy or fraudulent organizations, accompanied by no oversight. It's waste and corruption by Oregon's government. It's why taxes are high and there is a paucity of funds for normal government services. Do we need more money for roads? Stop the corruption and waste.
What is the difference between the Democratic Party and the drug gangs? I’m totally serious, this is where sanctuary status is leading us: towards a coalition of Democrats and gang bangers and drug cartel people. If the governor refuses to stand up to the Mexican and South American drug gangs, then how can we trust her or any of the other Democrats who run the state of Oregon? This is being spoken by a former Democrat, who now votes independent.
The idea that the Democrats were somehow incompetent while trying to control the border is ludicrous. Democrats are totally in bed with the cartels; they get commissions in return for non-enforcement of laws that make it possible for cartel gangs to be here (open borders) and to operate here. Anyone who doesn't see this yet is a fool. "Democrats and the Cartels" is a Substack article of mine worth reading: https://daveziffer.substack.com/p/democrats-and-the-cartels
And why isn’t this being covered by KVAL news? The answer is obvious, the media is controlled by the left and refuses to criticize the corrupt leaders here in Oregon.
Genius Oregon Style via OHA, No arrest, no re-imbursememt, no care contract, no accountability. Although maybe a controled dose stabilization with DeWalt aversion therapy may be a technicque worth trying on OHA administrators, for efficacy of course
Two things come to mind. First, another gawd-awful example of the waste of money by the “responsible” State overseers for proper allocation of these funds. Second, I wonder what else ole Maximo might be up to and what it’s costing all of us? Great work in bringing us this story!
I hate to tell you amateur Oregonians this, but when it comes to diabolical state government agencies funneling money, especially federal money, into the pockets of criminals, Minnesota has you beat by miles. This here is JUST ONE of our many ever-unfolding stories: "$250 Million FEEDING OUR FUTURE Fraud Scandal Rocks Minnesota 71 Arrested": https://confirmedsource.com/250-million-feeding-our-future-fraud-scandal-rocks-minnesota-71-arrested/
Our Lake O mayor won't be happy about this news. The "Hello LO" monthly newsletter from the City usually features a blurb from him hectoring residents about our racist past, out current "dark times", and protecting "immigrants" (among many sins). This news doesn't help his narrative, but I doubt it'll give him pause.
My thoughts exactly Allan. LEO's have been emasculated by relentless training that people of color must be treated with kid gloves, musant ask sensitive questions don't ya know.
Granted, we have hindsight, with much information being provided right here. If I lived next to the 'suspect house' or even in the neighborhood I would be furious! LOPD had multiple complaints, was no actual police work performed? ID's requested and verified? Age of occupants or victims (most likely) checked? License plates run through the system? And the home owner doesn't want to file a complaint and simply drives away? Absolutely little to no real police work performed here! At least call call the shift supervisor for heavens sake.
Follow the money, if enough information was collected to see who was on the gravy train. As mentioned by Pogi, how much of (our) money was shoveled to the dem party. Any ties to the fentanyl dealer in Salem? This is outrageous.
Way to wind me up Jeff! And great reporting. I hope this has been passed on to Bondi and Homan. Human trafficking, torture, attempted murder, I'll bet a terrorist charge could apply too being Tren de Aragua.
Damn, that would have covered the salaries for two, maybe three of the people who ran the kangaroo court that tried to censure Dwayne Yunker for reading from the books they want 3rd graders to have. Well no biggie. In a few days the Oregon Republicans will be back in the capitol greasing the skids for another massive tax increase whilst they wail and gnash their teeth and comically think it will be a winning campaign issue for them. And while they will show up to provide the needed quorum, they will hilariously claim they "fought for you" with their meaningless, theatrical "no" votes. Cha-ching.....
This is what happens when the state abdicates its responsibility to see that public money is spent wisely. Oregon has offloaded that responsibility to NGOs piled on top of other NGOs...which effectively operate in total secrecy.

NAILED IT!!!!!
What a scoop! The Oregonian should be all over this
But do you see they're not!! Bought and paid for by KOTEX!!!!
How much of that $2.3M in grift was kicked back to the Oregon Democrats?
There will never be enough money in the system with all the greedy pigs feeding at the taxpayer trough.
Irony, thy name is Oregon, have you no shame.

Yep, "Julius Maximo" is an intriguing figure.
please don't stop digging! we need to resurrect the Oregon that brought us here in the first place.

no words…
Corrupt Democrats LOVE to support criminals who KILL. They get a vicarious thrill from associating with gangster SCUM.

Like Oswego cops being there more than a dozen times. If it was over their ability to deal with, they should’ve called in the state police or FBI.

And a couple ODOT staffers in Salem
sigh...
Great digging.

"Uplifting Journey"...can't make this stuff up.
