State Rep. Cyrus Javadi (R-Tillamook) believes Oregonians can't wait to fix trust issues with their state government to spend more on highways and buses
Are department level financial breakdowns in terms of salary costs and head-counts publicly available anywhere? These threats to cut core services without first cutting down non-essential roles feels incredibly counter to the general public interest.
Wait! Didn't we just read in the Oregonian a few days ago that the State had rolled back on its heels and had give its union workers a handsome pay raise, more at home workability, etc? How much of a breach of trust does Rep. Javadi need before develops a spine?
Of course, the hidden fee is that in the charges to buy carbon tax credits, the liberal flag for climate change. Those charges are passed on to consumers by wholesalers. So, the sticker on a gas pump that reflects $.40/per gallon state gas tax is meaningless. Oregon, like ultra-left CA and WA, will soon mirror their fuel costs hovering between $4 - $7/gallon. These costs will continue to beat down buying power from their residents. It impacts every consumer area - housing costs, transportation, and goods and services.
Has the bill even been seen by anyone other than the authors? Is this another drunken Nancy moment where we are told to pass it so we can see whats in it?
Javadi "Trusts" that the money will be spent well and honestly? Javadi is naive. He's an embarrassment to the Republican Party and the fiscally conservative.

Can we trust anyone in Salem? I don't, even the handful of representatives I think I know I watch closely. Like the pit bull that acts like a puppy and loves its belly rubbed can become a crazed attack machine when surrounded by a pack of 'normal' looking pets, so it is with politicians.
After the blood dries, the politician is again docile and remorseful, giving you that look of 'I don't know what happened, I promise I'll never do that again".

This guy believes ODOT officials? C'mon! They are over budget on about everything being constructed. The top officials at ODOT are and have been in over their heads for a very long time. There is millions if not billions of dollars of room for improvement at ODOT as well as in all of Oregon government. The whole thing is a dumpster fire on steroids. And no one is held accountable for the screw-ups. So according to Rep. Javadi lets just trust ODOT and throw more money at the "problems! This guy is as out of touch as the state officials and the Democrats.
They could save at least $50M by eliminating their massive DEI bureaucracy and preferred bidding processes.

one of the things I like about democrats: all they have to do is throw money at a problem and it goes away. until it doesn't. rinse and repeat.
